Blog Journal #5

    My early experience started in high school. My teacher gave us extra credit to create a Twitter account to do blogs and talk about our class. Due to the fact, it was extra credit and my teacher said I did not need it, I really did not care to use it. Once covid hit, I started to be on Twitter more often since it was easy to grade and it was fun knowing everyone was on it. I have been interacting more with my peers and a few of my teachers from high school. I find it beneficial because I have the opportunity to find information and connect more with my future goals. Twitter might be helpful in my future career when looking for tips, jobs, research, and people in my field. Finding these on Twitter could help me have a successful career since I could access these things from that little bird app on my personal device.

    The digital divide is the division between people and the use of electronics such as computers, smartphones, iPad, watches, and much more. The digital divide affects student success in schools because, in my opinion, they do not get to learn the original and correct way. It is easier to do online in school but it is also easy to have access to have someone else do your work for you. Some causes are not learning, being disconnected from real-life learning, social problems, and much more. As a classroom teacher, it would be hard to get students to disassociate from their electronics since students' response would be “you could do this online and it is easier”. One example is reading, there are many books being unread because students find it easier to read online and most times they do not do exactly that.

    Academic software for students is useable online items that will best fit the students and teachers to help them better off with learning. Canvas would be one implement I would use in my future classroom. Canvas is an online classroom for students to find resources, assignments, grades, and much more. I would use canvas because I will feel connected to my students more online wise since it is easy to access both ways. Another academic software I would use is Quizlet. Quizlet is used to take notes, memorize those notes, and much more. Quizlet has gained more and more every day and is useful for homework and testing. My students would you quizlet because it will help them better understand their work.

     ELA technology standard is focused on helping students from K-12 create ideas to explore minds, development, and much more. The standard I selected was Grades: K-2 Standard 4: Hardware and Software. This standard is for students to be able to seek and know the different electronic devices in our classrooms. Blog Journal #6

     My initial experience using Diigo was weird. I do like Diigo but I also do not like it at the same time. Diigo have its pros and cons when it comes to using it for me. Some stuff I like about the website Diigo is being able to post, see what other post and the way the website help me with learning. Some cons I did have with the website is that it is hard to navigate the website for me. I have a hard time trying to see what is being posted but it is also good for me to learn how to use Diigo more.     My experience with blogging have been great...almost to the point that I have a small chance of loving it. I like that I can write what I want on the blog and write as much as I can/want. My First Entry

 Greetings!!! My name is Brianna Allen majoring in Biological Science on a pre-med track with a minor in Education. I am from Quincy, FL, which is literally 20 minutes outside Tallahassee. I am constantly busy and always have something to do daily. I love musicals and I have watched Alexander Hamilton 87 times. I have a hard time eating and I rather eat candy over eating a real meal. I have a lot of experience with using technology in an educational setting. At my current job, I am required to do a presentation to my students, and Zoom meetings, and since I am a STEM major my supervisor loves it when I can incorporate technology into my lesson of the week.
